This is a study of concrete resurfacing with overlayments tinted with integral color, and use of dyes and saw-cut patterning.

Not your typical concrete finish

Acid staining (or acid etching) of concrete produces such a stunning and unique look whenever applied, that no two surfaces are alike after being enhanced with this technique. Acid staining is less expensive than tile or other hard surfaces, and is far more durable and custom than carpet.
That's the magic and artistry of the acid-etch chemical staining process - an infinite number of possible results limited only by the creativity of the installer.

Unlike the traditional means of acid etching, our professionally installed system uses salt-acid based stains, eliminating the use of a caustic muriatic acid wash to prepare the cement surface. This reduces installation time as well as making the introduction of hazardous materials to the installation area a thing of the past. Since Acid-Stains penetrate into the concrete when applied, the resulting finish is as durable as the concrete it decorates.

The possibilities are endless

Using cement overlayment materials specially prepared to accept the acid stains, resurfacing can now be done to existing concrete that is unsightly or otherwise unable to accept the stains itself. With overlayment, installations are also no longer limited to concrete flooring.
Specialty finishes such as saw-cut patterning, borders, inlays, and stamping can also add to the beauty of any installation.

Many surfaces can be prepared to accept acid stains:

  • New or existing concrete
  • Formica countertops
  • Shower Surrounds
  • Walls
  • Furniture
  • Moldings
